The Chronicles of Johnny and Me: A Hilarious Night of Catching Up on Facebook

Last night was one for the books! My cousin Johnny (you might know him as Alashi) King and I had a riotous late-night Facebook call that felt like a sitcom episode. Our catch-up session was filled with laughter, nostalgia, and some rather ambitious business scheming!

We kicked off reminiscing about the good old days—oh, the stories we have! It’s amazing how Johnny still remembers that time I tried to invent a bicycle that could fly. Spoiler alert: it didn’t take off. Transitioning from tales of past escapades, we ventured into the realm of potential future ones. We chatted about starting a spy software company named Pegasus—not to wing you to mythical heights, but to catch cheating spouses! Talk about a niche market.

Business talk brought us to none other than Bill Gates. We pondered the intricate dance of business politics, spinning tales of climbing the corporate ladder without getting stepped on. “It’s all about being on the other end of the needle,” Johnny said, which had me in stitches trying to figure out if that was a real saying or just Johnny being Johnny.

And as if the night wasn’t delightful enough, Johnny introduced me to his lovely new wife over the call. She’s fantastic and fits right into our quirky family banter. Speaking of family, we couldn’t help but rave about my mother, Hannah. Johnny wholeheartedly agreed with me—Mom really is the OG (Original Gangster) in the kitchen. Her legendary culinary skills had us both drooling in nostalgia (and actual hunger).

Our conversation took a turn towards the audacious as we dreamed up plans to “stick up the world” and split it 50/50. Though, knowing our luck, we’d end up with just a globe and a pair of toy guns. By the end of the call, we had laughed, planned, and schemed enough to fill a novel.

It’s not every day you get to reconnect with family and have it be so enjoyable. It reminded me why I’m so lucky to have Johnny not just as a cousin, but as a lifelong friend. Here’s to more hilarious nights and maybe even making some of our wilder business dreams come true. After all, with Johnny by my side, how can we go wrong?
