Since my partition was large enough for the update, I followed these steps:

First, I checked whether WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment) was enabled on my device. It was enabled, so I disabled it, then re-enabled it, and retried the Windows update. This time, it finally worked.

Here’s what I did:

1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator (Right-click on CMD > select ‘Run as administrator’).
2. Enter the command "reagentc /info" to check if Windows RE (WinRE) is enabled.
3. Disable WinRE using "reagentc /disable".
4. Re-enable WinRE using "reagentc /enable".
5. Retry the Windows update, which successfully went through.
