Unveiling the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series: A Deep Dive into Its Advanced AI Features. The Samsung Galaxy S24 has been introduced with a range of AI features at the Unpacked launch event, where Samsung showcased its Galaxy AI capabilities. The series is notable for being the first non-Pixel phone to locally run Google’s Gemini Nano model, enabling a variety of new AI-driven functionalities, some of which work without an internet connection.
These AI features, though premium and chargeable, offer practical benefits. The Galaxy S24 series includes several key AI functions. One such feature is Circle to Search, an advancement of Google Lens that uses generative AI for combined image and text searches. Users can, for example, photograph a chameleon and ask, “Where is this reptile found?” right next to the image. Additionally, users can circle, scribble, tap, or highlight objects in other apps like Instagram for relevant search results, including text summary and web links.
Live Translate is another highlight, allowing real-time translation during voice calls, fully processed on the device, ensuring privacy. It supports 13 languages and remembers user preferences. The Call Assist button initiates this feature, offering Text call and Live Translate options with language selection.
The Interpreter feature adds an in-person translation layer to conversations between two people speaking different languages, working entirely on-device. Samsung’s default keyboard and Messages app now include real-time translation features, akin to Google Translate.

Samsung has enhanced the Notes app with an AI summarization feature that organizes text into formatted bullet points and headers, and allows users to adjust text spacing and headline colors. The Galaxy AI also enables users to create personalized emojis from their photos.
Another generative AI feature is Magic Compose in messaging, providing context-aware sentence suggestions and allowing users to select different tones for their replies. The Galaxy S24 series also introduces photo editing capabilities with intelligent prompts like shadow and reflection removal, inspired by Google’s Magic Eraser and Adobe’s Firefly. Users can reframe pictures or move objects like a cat to different locations in a photo, with the AI seamlessly filling in the gaps.
The Pro Visual Engine software enhances videos with effects like Instant Slow-mo, which adds AI-generated frames for smooth slow-motion playback. Lastly, the Recorder app now labels sentences per speaker in transcripts and offers summaries of recordings for quick recaps.
